Faith is one of the most fundamental and important
principles of living a full life. Faith replaces our fears. Faith isn’t always
easy to have, especially when we are going through something difficult and our
patience is being tested and we are about to give up. Heavenly Father can help
us keep our faith strong when we do what he has asked of us and we rely on him
for help in our lives. He wants us to succeed and become better every day.
Faith helps us stay optimistic about the purpose of our existence and gives us
motivation to keep ourselves pure from the stains of the world. Faith is such a
blessing in my personal life because it allows me to start over again and try
my very hardest. All I can do is my very best and rely on God to help me with
the rest. I know that faith is worth it. If we just replace our doubts with
trust in God, our lives will have much more meaning and happiness.
"Even if you exercise your strongest faith, God will not always reward you immediately according to your desires. Rather, God will respond with what in His eternal plan is best for you. He loves you to a depth and completeness you cannot conceive of in your mortal state. Indeed, were you to know His entire plan, you would never ask for that which is contrary to it even though your feelings tempt you to do so. Sincere faith gives understanding and strength to accept the will of our Heavenly Father when it differs from our own. We can accept His will with peace and assurance, confident that His infinite wisdom surpasses our own ability to comprehend fully His plan as it unfolds a piece at a time."- Richard G. Scott: The Sustaining Power of Faith in Times of Uncertainty and Testing (April 2003).
"Faith, to be faith, must center around something that is not known. Faith, to be faith, must go beyond that for which there is confirming evidence. Faith, to be faith, must go into the unknown. Faith, to be faith, must walk to the edge of the light, and then a few steps into the darkness. If everything has to be known, if everything has to be explained, if everything has to be certified, then there is no need for faith. Indeed, there is no room for it."- Packer, Boyd K. “Faith.” Improvement Era (Nov 1968) 71:60–63
"Our faith is centered in God, our Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. It is bolstered by our knowledge that the fulness of the gospel has been restored to the earth, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that prophets and apostles today hold the keys of the priesthood. We treasure our faith, work to strengthen our faith, pray for increased faith, and do all within our power to protect and defend our faith."- Neil L. Andersen, "Trial of Your Faith", Liahona and Ensign, November 2012
"I bear witness of the power of the priesthood given to the Church to protect us and guide us. And because we have that, we have no fear of the future. Fear is the opposite of faith. We move forward, certain that the Lord will watch over us, particularly in the family."- Boyd K. Packer, "The Power of the Priesthood", Liahona and Ensign, May 2010
"Let us do whatever is required to qualify for the Holy Ghost as our companion, and then let us go forward fearlessly so that we will be given the powers to do whatever the Lord calls us to do. That growth in power to serve may come slowly, it may come in small steps that are difficult for you to see, but it will come."- Henry B. Eyring, "Serve with the Spirit", General Conference, October 2010
"To develop enduring faith, an enduring commitment to be a full-tithe payer is essential. Initially it takes faith to tithe. Then the tithe payer develops more faith to the point that tithing becomes a precious privilege."- Russell M. Nelson, "Face the Future with Faith", General Conference, May 2011
"Each of us will be tested. The Apostle Paul warned that in the latter days, those who diligently follow the Lord 'shall suffer persecution.' That very persecution can either crush you into silent weakness or motivate you to be more exemplary and courageous in your daily lives."- Russell M. Nelson, "Face the Future with Faith", Liahona and Ensign, May 2011
"If we have faith in Jesus Christ, the hardest as well as the easiest times in life can be a blessing." - President Eyring. Mountains to Climb. April 2012.
"It is never too late to strengthen the foundation of faith. There is always time. With faith in the Savior, you can repent and plead for forgiveness. There is someone you can forgive. There is someone you can thank. There is someone you can serve and lift. You can do it wherever you are and however alone and deserted you may feel." - President Eyring. Mountains to Climb. April 2012.
"Believe that you are a daughter of Heavenly Father, that He loves you,
and that you are here for a glorious purpose—to gain your eternal
salvation. Believe that remaining strong and faithful to the truths of
the gospel is of utmost importance. I testify that it is!"- President Monson. Believe, Obey, Endure. May 2012.
"There will be times when you will face challenges which might jeopardize
your testimony, or you may neglect it as you pursue other interests. I
plead with you to keep it strong. It is your responsibility, and yours
alone, to keep its flame burning brightly. Effort is required, but it is
effort you will never, ever regret."- President Monson. Believe, Obey, Endure. May 2012.
